Tega Akinola<\/a>, with only 22 years<\/strong> and a degree from an undefined London<\/strong> college, has made a lot of talk in the world of streetwear<\/strong> for having transformed iconic garments of Nike<\/a> and Patagonia<\/a> brands into d\u00e9coll\u00e9 or clutch bags.<\/p>\n

But that’s not all<\/strong>, the young English woman also tries her hand creating sandals or fisherman hats made by recycling old white charging cables.<\/p>\n

Tega is a true marvel of upcycling<\/strong> or creative recycling, a central theme in the world of fashion. This form of recycling<\/strong>, which literally means “better recycling<\/strong>“, is seen as an art form that fascinates many designers of the moment who are focused on sustainability.<\/p>\n

As she states in an interview, Tega began to create<\/strong> and transform her garments because she did not have the financial resources to buy new ones<\/strong> and, encouraged by her seamstress mother<\/strong>, she tried to revive the pieces she already owned.<\/p>\n

Her work has been developed mainly in the period of pandemic<\/strong> that England also had to face and some super interesting pieces came out.<\/p>\n
