\"ThomExtravagance, play, childhood<\/strong>. These are the keywords of the new Resort Menswear 2022<\/strong> presented by Thom Browne<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I wanted to create a collection that was childish and playful, thus coming out of an elegant and very serious collection”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

says the designer. Tired of the past, he wants to break away from it to approach a different world. We can say that he managed with flying colors given that the result is surprising.<\/p>\n

It is even more beautiful when, looking at a collection, you perceive the world behind it. When an artist, because that’s what he should be called, manages to blend together his creativity and his experience of him. In fact, this collection starts from some symbols<\/strong> of Browne<\/strong>‘s youth, such as kites, propeller planes, all toys that his parents had given to him and his brother with a very specific idea. The idea that everything was possible<\/strong>. But that’s not all. In the Resort Menswear 2022<\/strong> we find a series of accessories, including bags, made in the likeness of his dachshund, Hector. It is not easy to transform memories, symbols, affections into fashion, but he succeeds.<\/p>\n

In this collection, Browne also decides to blend tradition and provocation together<\/strong>, formal suits for men and silhouettes<\/strong> reminiscent of female<\/strong> ones. Let’s not forget that, especially in recent years, at the center of the designer’s experimentation is the idea of \u200b\u200bproposing women’s clothes on male figures. This exchange of silhouettes<\/strong>, from skirts to dresses to trousers, therefore seems normal in his eyes and he proposes it again today. We find old American suits with extravagant draped<\/strong> kilts and ponchos<\/strong>. All on luxury fabrics such as wool seersucker<\/strong> covered with percale, madras checks<\/strong> and cotton-linen blends<\/strong>. The colors of the collection mostly range from gray to white, from black to navy blue, while some outfits attract attention with eccentric red stripes. Everything is complemented by accessories such as sailor and propeller hats.<\/p>\n

Although we are facing a high fashion collection, ” formal ” for the fabrics used, this one boasts an imaginative youth<\/strong>. Observing it, in fact, it seems to immerse oneself in a world, the world of Browne<\/strong>. At times bizarre, excessive, perhaps even incomprehensible, but so surprisingly true<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
