We want to look, to see, but above all to be seen. And that’s why freely expressing ourselves, our thoughts and our identity, can only make us feel better now. This is the inspiration for the new Fall Winter 2021 collection presented at Milan Fashion Week by the Yezael brand. But let’s proceed in order. Who is this brand and who is the designer?

Angelo Cruciani has Italian origins, 43, an activist for LGBT rights, participated as a competitor in the TV program presented by Alexa Chung broadcast on Netflix, challenging himself with creativity with the best emerging designers in the world, winner in 2019 of the “best creativity ”at Beijing Design Week and finally creator of the Yezael brand.

“Yezael, channels a precise, explicit, maximalist, embellished and sexy style that erases the ordinary from everyday life, pushing an individual into a world of joy, sharing, fun and eccentricity.”

And it is precisely in this spirit of inclusiveness, as the brand logo that connects the three branches of the letter Y, that the collection appears projected. Entitled “Euphoria“, the new line explores the surreal obsession with hedonism, taking Generation Z and its curious spirit that so distinguishes it as its official recipient. In a system where our filters are now those of Instagram, our eyes are the photographic lens of the phone, our memory is a cloud archive, so are we sure to look at the world with our eyes? But what Angelo Cruciani really asks us is: “Are you looking at your cell phone, or is it your cell phone looking at you?” in short, “Who is watching whom?”.

Starting from this question, what emerges is a collection with a streetwear-grunge aesthetic, with a poetic-biting soul, in which garments made of chiffon, jacquard and nylon fully express the freedom of the wearer. Nothing perfect, quite the opposite, flaws, gashes and unstitching are very evident. But what strikes the attention are those eyes that storm every single item. Of different shapes, colors and sizes, they look in a thousand directions without ever focusing because they are surrounded by too many points of view. This is a clear representation of the realism in which we live.

Everything that seems to be real appears distorted, altered and deformed but extremely hypnotic, just see the presentation video of the collection. Reality or perception of reality, will this be the real dilemma? And while you try to answer this question, stop and take a look at the new collection, coming soon on the official website.

____________________

Read also…

PFW: Marine Serre’s eco-futurist fashion in her new “CORE” collection

In a historical moment in which everything seems unreal and elusive, now made up of masks, we live as if we had a veil that focuses everything on the gaze.
