Salvatore Ferragamo<\/a><\/strong>‘s archive was made public after about a century. The virtual tour<\/strong> format has increased with the pandemic, as many museums, exhibitions and foundations have adopted this innovative digital system, that allows them to explore timeless timeless works, such as that of the historic footwear pioneer.<\/p>\n

The exhibition<\/strong> includes sketches, documents, patents, textiles, photographs <\/strong>and unpublished creations<\/strong> from the 1920s to more recent times. Among the exhibits they will also find accessories worn by Marylin Monroe <\/strong>and Lady Diana<\/strong>. The creations are illustrated with videos and in-depth sheets in Italian or English.<\/p>\n

The archive<\/strong> is located in the province of Florence in the Salvatore Ferragamo<\/strong> headquarters and, in addition to being the testimony of his devoted work, it was created in memory of the eldest daughter Fiamma,<\/strong>\u00a0who was creative director of the brand. Ferragamo’s work marked the history of 20th century footwear, he was a visionary artist, “the shoemaker of the stars”<\/strong>\u00a0as he was called in Hollywood<\/strong>\u00a0during the 1920s, and when he settled in Florence in the post-war era, the his avant-garde work inspired many artists of the time. The designer himself was the archivist of his works, as he had the habit of continuously collecting testimonies of his creations,<\/strong> including illustrations, newspaper clippings and photographs.<\/span><\/p>\n
