The\u00a0Off-White\u2122<\/a> designer and creative director, Virgil Abloh, is launching a new partnership with NikeLab<\/a> also in its home state, more precisely in the city of Chicago.<\/h2>\n

Entitled “Re-creation Center”<\/strong>, the newly designed space is described by Nike as a “cultural center”<\/em> and it will host practical workshops and mentorship programs<\/strong> aimed at young Abloh fans who will have the opportunity to learn<\/strong> the foundations of more disciplines within the fashion system.
\nIn fact, the topics ranging from brand identity, fabric design, graphic design, photography and more will all be discussed in depth.<\/p>\n

\"nike<\/p>\n

The 8-week program<\/strong> is set up to offer exclusive drops<\/strong>, “recovery programs”<\/strong> and discussions<\/strong> in collaboration with partners chosen directly by Abloh, ranging from figures such as graphic designers to photographers. Currently the confirmed mentors are: Chuck Anderson<\/strong> (Graphic Design), Paul Octavious<\/strong> (Photography), Alyx Harch<\/strong> (Fabric Design), Thomas Kelley and Carrie Norman<\/strong> (Brand Identity), Ann Lui and Craig Reschke<\/strong> (Architecture).<\/p>\n

Thanks to this mentoring program, each participant will have the opportunity to improve the skills of their respective practices<\/strong> and engage in complementary areas of expertise<\/strong>. At the end of this educational journey there will be a final project presentation.<\/p>\n

The engaging Re-creation Center\u00a0<\/strong>space will finally highlight the Nike “Reuse-a-Shoe”<\/strong> initiative. This program transforms the consumed sneakers into Nike Grind<\/strong>, the Nike project that involves the recycling of old fabrics to reuse them both in clothing and in basketball courts. In particular\u00a0through this initiative, a community basketball court designed by Abloh will be built in Chicago<\/strong> ahead of the Nike Grind’s NBA All-Star 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
