VANS PRESENTS WAFFLEHEAD<\/em>: SNEAKERS AS PERSONAL EXPRESSION TOOLS<\/h2>\n

Wafflehead<\/em> by Vans<\/strong>. This is one of the many projects of the American brand<\/a> and this time it involves you, us. All those who not only limit themselves to buying (and collecting) their iconic sneakers<\/strong> but adding something of their own. A color story, tags, geometric shapes. Customizing then becomes narrating a piece of self.<\/p>\n

A subculture is born. Vans, in fact, invites collectors from all over the world to share their stories. Among these, the best known are Charlene Holy Bear<\/strong>, Henry Davies<\/strong> and Bill Cruz<\/strong>, founder of Under The Palms<\/em><\/a> and self-proclaimed guru of the Vans sneaker collector community. Regarding the movement, he says: \u00abWe chose to go to the left when everyone else went to the right.\u00bb While the approval was rampant, these company fans decided to make the models they buy unique.<\/p>\n

Instead, they prefer to consume them to the sole, paint them, find pairs used in flea markets. Their collections are the mirror of an authentic and individual style, of the aesthetic sense, of the love for our brand and for what it represents, that is tradition, bond with the subcultures and expression of the Ego<\/i>.\u00bb<\/p>\n

Wafflehead<\/em> by Vans<\/strong> is entirely part of the spirit of Vans’ Off the Wall<\/em>. Along these lines, Vans will host a series of Meet the Waffleheads<\/em> events to celebrate Vans collectors and personalisers from around the world, with round tables, music and artifacts from creative cultures developed in the brand’s international communities. Starting this summer<\/strong>, Vans enthusiasts will be able to send images of their own collections or of their own Vans and try to win a trip that is fully paid to participate in one of these happenings, where they will exhibit their personal collections.<\/p>\n
