{"id":129741,"date":"2019-05-10T10:42:57","date_gmt":"2019-05-10T08:42:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/the-medelan-in-2021-milan-will-host-a-new-retail-center-in-piazza-cordusio\/"},"modified":"2019-05-10T10:42:57","modified_gmt":"2019-05-10T08:42:57","slug":"the-medelan-in-2021-milan-will-host-a-new-retail-center-in-piazza-cordusio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/en\/the-medelan-in-2021-milan-will-host-a-new-retail-center-in-piazza-cordusio\/","title":{"rendered":"The Medelan, in 2021 Milan will host a new retail center in Piazza Cordusio"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Milan is officially ready to welcome The Medelan (from the ancient and first name of Milan dating back to the Celts), the new redevelopment project of the former Palazzo del Credito Italiano, whose main body was designed by Luigi Broggi and Cesare Nava in 1901.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pietro Clemente<\/strong>, asset management executive director of <strong>Fosun Hive Italia<\/strong>, and <strong>Stefano Boninsegna<\/strong>, owner of <strong>GLA<\/strong> (Genius Loci Architectura) introduced the project of the historic building former seat of <strong>Credito Italiano<\/strong> conservative restoration and refurbishment .<\/p>\n<p>The real estate property is therefore the Chinese <strong>Fosun<\/strong> that through <strong>Fidelidade<\/strong> (the largest Portuguese insurance company) acquired in 2015, for 344 million euros, from<strong> IDea Fimit Sgr-Fondo Omicron<\/strong>. The property was transferred to the<strong> Broggi Fund<\/strong>, managed by <strong>DeA Capital Real Estate Sgr<\/strong>, a De Agostini Group company specialized in real estate investment funds with a market share of over 22.5%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The building in question will officially become in 2021, the future attractive center of Piazza Cordusio<\/strong> together with the other two large buildings already occupied by the new international leading tenants: <strong>Starbucks Reserve Roastery<\/strong> (formerly Palazzo delle Poste) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/en\/uniqlo-opening-milan-store\/\"><strong>Uniqlo<\/strong><\/a> in the Hines Cordusio 2.0.<\/p>\n<p>The building complex subject to urban redevelopment represents one of the most important historic buildings of architectural value in the Lombard capital. It consists of <strong>three connected buildings<\/strong> dating back to different periods: the main one is the former <strong>Credito Italiano building<\/strong> (1901, designed by the architects Luigi Broggi and Cesare Nava) which borders along via Tommaso Grossi with the <strong>Magazzini Contratti building<\/strong> (1903, Luigi Broggi). The more recent construction (1960, Giovanni Muzio) is <strong>the wing of the building<\/strong> that completes the 55,000 square meter structure between Piazza Cordusio, Via Grossi, Via Santa Margherita, Via San Protaso and Via Porrone.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64202\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/the-medelan-piazza-cordusio-1.jpg\" alt=\"the medelan piazza cordusio\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" data-id=\"64202\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3>The redevelopment<\/h3>\n<p>Which will give life to <strong>The Medelan<\/strong>, it will integrate the historical architectural elements of the building with modern, <strong>innovative and eco-sustainable elements<\/strong> and that will host spaces for <strong>shops, offices and leisure facilities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, the plans of the new <strong>The Medelan<\/strong> pole will be composed as follows: from the basement to the first (about 12,000 square meters) they will be reserved for <strong>shops<\/strong>; the second to fifth floors (over 20,000 square meters) will be dedicated to newly designed <strong>offices<\/strong>; the sixth floor (about 2,000 square meters partially covered) will host a <strong>glamorous and innovative restaurant<\/strong>, with a <strong>terrace<\/strong> and a unique view of the city.
