Art and fashion, an ever less unlikely marriage. While critics continue to discuss it<\/a>, it seems that the brands do not care about the issue. However, there are some obvious exceptions, such as Iris van Herpen<\/strong>, which in the ready-to-wear and in high fashion continually brings a strong dose of vanguard. Even Monday, January 21st, she did not disappoint the expectations, when she presented to the press and buyers the haute couture collection for spring 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Yes, the collection is total: every macro and micro detail is synonymous with quality – it has focused a lot on materials – experimentation and aesthetics. From 2007, in Paris, the creations of the fashion designer parade, which makes the form the subject of her artistic research, developing it through cuts and stitching of high tailoring. Volumes in 3D, research of unprecedented proportions; the outputs are a tribute to the creative act: seductive color shades, indefinite lengths but precisely constructed, are the plastic structure of a world in constant evolution. Very different, certainly, from her counterparts, who continue to believe that only marketing can save them from oblivion.<\/p>\n

The future is expressed in the van Herpen fashion show<\/strong>. Not only for the alien<\/em> appearance of the clothes but also for the concept that the designer wants to communicate: the clothing sector must seek and enhance the culture of beauty, of the done well; it must reward talent, the one who is not afraid of being herself until the end. She risks, because she goes against the current but wins for this reason. Hers is a humble lesson in what brands, in their own way, should (know ho to) do. With Iris one can use rhetoric, redundant adjectives. She deserves them, given the success achieved in these years of hard work. Which then, in the end, always pays.<\/p>\n
