A dreamer, able to create life around her alone, trying to always be the center of attention<\/em>. This is the phrase chosen by <\/span>Alexandra Tapu<\/strong> to describe a type of woman who is a symbol of her brand. Her muse, the one that led her in 2012 to found a fashion house where simplcity and attention to detail are the key words. But Tapu knows others, all derived from her passion for product and beauty, without forgetting the ethical aspect, as she tells in this interview.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alexandra, it’s the passion for fashion that took you to the foundation of Alexandra Tapu. What are the basic reference points from which you started for the creation of your brand?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fashion has always been a strong interior call. I worked in the furniture industry as an interior designer, but the road I always wanted to take was that of fashion. When my son was born, everything changed in my life, so I decided to start building what I always wanted.<\/p>\n

Simplicity is another key word of your aesthetics. In what aspects is it found and what is the meaning that you attribute to it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The grandeur<\/em> of the brand is manifested precisely in the concept of extreme simplicity. What you are looking for is not the must-have garment of the period, but those devoted to eternal elegance, to timeless style, rather than to the transience of a beautiful redundant and often deceptive.<\/p>\n

In which phases do you experiment?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the most creative phase, at the beginning of the birth of every model, my thoughts sweep over reality. It is a continuous ferment: I am surrounded by sketches, mannequins and fabrics. Experimenting is another key word for me.<\/p>\n

Nature is the element from which the spring\/summer 2019 collection moves. Is it also the environment in which you create and work or just the ideal aspiration to define summer clothing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nature accompanies each collection. It is the symbiosis of everything. I believe that every most beautiful thing in our life derives from nature. Without it nothing is beautiful or harmonious. Nature teaches us everything.<\/p>\n

Every garment is made in Italy: what is your relationship with producers and artisans?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alexandra Tapu is also ethical fashion: by developing the entire production process in Italy, the company rises from every possible reality of underpaid workers or even exploited minors. It goes without saying the Italian origin of the subjects chosen for the realization of the collections. All this leads to a very close relationship, almost familiar, with the producers and the artisans with whom we collaborate.<\/p>\n

What are the plans for the future?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Long-term goal is certainly to make more and more perceive the added value of a product, both fashionable and creative and crafted, in a panorama of replicas and replicants, a scenario in which fashion should slow down the pace to act as a lifeline to heritage of the handmade.<\/p>\n
