It is the case of Sadak, a brand born in 2010 of the creative mind of the Serbian origin designer Sasa Kovacevic.

Kovacevic breathes as a young man the art of hand sewing and the aesthetic and intrinsic peculiarities of the traditional clothes of his country of origin that used to dress his family, especially his grandmother. The locus amoenus of domestic foul is, at the same time, spoiled by the rigidity of the communist regime and the consequent militarization of the country. This social dichotomy is visible in its fashion, a practice that, collection after collection, is applied to a unique and indispensable motto: pride in individuality.

The primary individual, from whom is generated the vision of what will be the series of clothes – today for both man and woman – is certainly the creative, with his family heritage and his vision of the contemporary world, past and present. But between fibers and colors is at the same time the secondary individual, the person who will dress his creations. Equally as fundamental as the first, he is the body that inspires him by his needs, without losing his character. And that is how you are going to form a complete wardrobe from every point of view: there is the precious element, but also the less complex one, the structured and the most casual, giving as a result an interesting street style couture melange.

Fashion yes, but there is much more in the life of Sadak’s designer. Following the fashion design degree at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee in Berlin, the designer attends another stage in costume design at the Belgrade Academy of Art. This specialty allows him to partecipate creating costumes in independent and even blockbuster movie productions, one on all The Hunger Games part 1.

Sasa Kovacevic is certainly capable. It is seen in details of dresses, in unpublished prints and, above all, and is the most important aspect, in the fact that he studies, deepens styles and techniques, silhouettes and social conditions outside of fashion. A brand we will hear more and more in Italy and around the world.

sadak.de

Introducing a new reality is not an easy thing, especially if it is characterized by many factors, even cultural ones, and whether the industry in which it operates is saturated as that of fashion.
