{"id":127836,"date":"2016-02-29T16:43:27","date_gmt":"2016-02-29T14:43:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/steve-mccurry-for-valentino-s-s-2016\/"},"modified":"2016-02-29T16:43:27","modified_gmt":"2016-02-29T14:43:27","slug":"steve-mccurry-for-valentino-s-s-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/en\/steve-mccurry-for-valentino-s-s-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"STEVE MCCURRY FOR VALENTINO S\/S 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/steve-mccurry-valentino-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-47005\" alt=\"steve-mccurry-valentino-1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/steve-mccurry-valentino-1.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"576\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, creative directors of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/search\/valentino\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Valentino<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0fashion house since 2007 (the year when the great designer decided to leave the reins of his empire), chose <a href=\"http:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/search\/mccurry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Steve McCurry<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to make the shots of <strong>spring\/summer 2016 campaign<\/strong>.<br \/>\nBest known for his work at National Geographic (historical the cover of June 1985, the &#8220;Afghan Girl&#8221;) and universally recognized as one of the most important contemporary photographers, Curry commented his work for the Italian fashion house:\u00a0<em>\u201cThe idea of these pictures is to take the viewer on a journey. The clothes were inspired by <strong>African motifs<\/strong>, so to take the shoot to <strong>Africa<\/strong> and show how these things interact and, this connection of the clothes, the models, the environment, the local people; I thought it was a great endeavor.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/steve-mccurry-valentino-11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-47007\" alt=\"steve-mccurry-valentino-11\" src=\"http:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/steve-mccurry-valentino-11.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"577\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Shots with rich colors, stunning landscapes, images that perfectly reflects both the mood of the collection and American photographer style.<br \/>\nAll very nice, especially when the models, the luxury clothing and bags from a few thousand euro dialogue with its <strong>surroundings<\/strong>, when the conflict arises between the Valentino&#8217;s woman and nature.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/steve-mccurry-valentino-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-47009\" alt=\"steve-mccurry-valentino-4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.waitfashion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/steve-mccurry-valentino-4.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"579\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But when this woman joins the native warriors, to the true African clothes and houses in raw land, it seems that Curry invite us to make a <strong>critical reflection<\/strong> on what is the real relationship between the fashion industry and the reality from which comes the inspiration for this collection.<\/p>\n<p>Some have called these shots a masterpiece, others blasphemy, what do you think?<br \/>\nFollowing
