With the hashtag #IeriOggiDiadora the sportswear brand launches the capsule collection Diadora USA 94, to be released in conjunction with the “The Divine Ponytail” Netflix movie, a film that traces the Roberto Baggio career and that fateful penalty at the 1994 World Cup.
With this collection, Diadora decided to honor not only the footballer, who has been the brand’s ambassador throughout his career, but also some of the most iconic moments of modern football. The protagonists of this capsule are five garments that are based on the historical models of the 1994 American World Cup.
In the foreground we find the Track Jacket USA 94, made more contemporary by a composition of polyester mixed cotton, the Diadora logo and embroidered patch that represents the Italian flag.
There are also two polo shirts: the Polo SS USA 94, in technical fabric, printed allover and the Polo SS USA 94 Training that reproduces the original print and the Diadora and IP logos embroidered and sublimated, as in the original version. In both polo shirts, collar and cuffs are knitted flat jacquard with details of the Italian flag.
The series is completed with a pair of socks and the shoe Intrepid OG, proposed in a modern style of the 1994 version. The upper of this sneaker is characterized by a premium nylon mesh and a soft suede leather.
As the only shop in Southern Italy, authorized to sell the Diadora USA 94 capsule, was chosen Banana Moon. Opened for the first time in 1978 in Bari, it is today a beacon and a reference point in Italy for the streetwear‘s world scene, thanks to its special selection of historic and innovative brands.
On June 1st, to inaugurate the collection, Banana Moon will host an exclusive event in its store, which will be available only by invitation. It will first be broadcast “The Divine Ponytail“ on a big screen; then, a meeting with Sgamo, DJ producer in Bari, where we will talk about the relationship between sport and streetwear.
Diadora and Netflix have created a dedicated showcase and a special ‘90s theme installation inside the store, with lots of cathode-ray tube televisions, nostalgia corner and much more.
