Just in time for the summer, Vans releases a new silhouette, the Sid NI, inspired by its classic skate sneaker.
After the release of the Sid Pro sneaker in collaboration with the streetwear brand Supreme, for this season, Vans instead relaunches the new Sid NI silhouette with design cues that refer to the original.
The retro-inspired silhouette will be available in two glitter graphic variants, including a blue and black iteration. Equipped with a white platform midsole, the sneaker features a glittering upper embroidered on the side with the vintage “Flying-V” logo by Vans and a tone-on-tone canvas tab.
“The concept behind the Sid NI is to bring a new context to a classic Vans skate silhouette. We have updated the proportion with the addition of a platform sole and modernized the vulcanized construction with an UltraCush lining for maximum comfort. Mixing modern proportions with historic design elements, including the exaggerated Flying-V logo, we can celebrate what made the original Sid so special,” explains Rafael Mayorga of Vans Footwear Designer exclusively.
Vans Sid NI, inspired by the 90s, will drop in every Vans stores and Vans.com in June.
