Low rise and super short… this is how to describe the most popular skirt for next season.
The trend of the low rise miniskirt comes straight from the early 2000s and it may looks like something you’d rather wear during summer but the designers gave us many options even for the lower temperatures of winter.
These are our favorite interpretations of this trend from the runways of the latest editions of Milan and Paris Fashion Week.
Miu Miu
The micro miniskirt was a huge success in the spring/summer 22 collection, therefore the brand made this product the focal point of the new collection. The skirt is available in many different options, paired with oversized coats and sheer blouses.
Diesel
Glenn Martens, Diesel’s new creative director, presented a miniskirt that reminds of a belt, worn with accessories inspired by the y2k, such as boots with stiletto heels.
Versace
Versace created skirts for different occasions, using a variety of fabrics: denim, tweed, crystals and many other versions…on the runway they were paired with printed t-shirts, for a casual outfit, or with oversized jackets and golden belts.
Prada
It’s very interesting how Prada plays with layering to make the skirt more “wearable”.
Blumarine
This skirt is perfectly in line with the aesthetic of the brand.
Off-White
In his last collection, Virgil Abloh included a few versions of the low rise-skirt.
N°21
Alessandro Dell’Acqua creates his miniskirt full of sequins.
