Jil Sander’s minimal and progressive style continues to yield benefits, through geometrics, stylistic rigor and the pleasure of discovery yourself in the solitude.
How the next season’s collection is going to develop after Renzo Rosso’ acquisition of the brand, the “less is more” philosophy is brought on by Lucie and Luke Meier continues to remain consistent with Jil Sander’s idea. The glamourous simplicity of the brand, although remaining in its comfort zone, manages to reach people every time; in addition to the dress and the aesthetic, the essentialism crosses the forms and becomes pure poetry.
Dresses seem to whisper renunciation to the excess and exuberance; they appear to welcome the relaxed lines and the fluid essence of soft colors. The palette focuses on cold tones, such as white, black and metallics. Tailoring is right, easy and alluring, an adherent cut on jackets and long dresses predominates. Fabrics are essentially ecological; leather is vegan. Some prints seem recreating details from the Bauhaus design. They are matched with lace inserts and more eccentric colors, such as silver and mustard yellow.
Looks are embellished by draped leather gloves. The best accessories are the sculptured bags, which are gusseted, rectangular and squared, with large handles. Particular is the bag that seems adorned by small metallic spheres inspired by essentialism discipline. They are details that we find on necklaces with large chain parts and spheric earrings made by flattened metal.
