In recent days we have witnessed the announcement of a further collaboration between the Nike and Off-White brands.
To celebrate the Tokyo Olympics, the two brands have created a clothing collection with a futuristic flavor that aims to pay particular attention to performance footwear. It is a collection dedicated entirely and evidently to sport that includes a heavy knit t-shirt with the graffiti motif, a crop top designed for multi-action sports, 2 in 1 shorts for athletes and more, a pair of trousers with drawstring in life inspired by the aesthetics of skateboarding. And that’s not all: there are also tight shorts and socks with the words “What’s good / bad taste?” and “What’s good / bad about art?”.
However, this Off-White x Nike collection has proposed to reinterpret a sneaker model, the Air Zoom Tempo NEXT%. Virgil Abloh decides to take on one of Nike‘s most innovative running silhouettes by giving it a new aesthetic. An aesthetic consisting of an Atomknit upper positioned on a ZoomX Foam sole, inside which special Zoom Air Pods are inserted, or air capsules capable of increasing both the comfort and the reactivity of the shoe. Then the writing ” AIR ”, a Swoosh drawn on the upper and rubber studs on the outsole. The Air Zoom Tempo NEXT% sneaker was also presented in three different colors: Black / White-Scream Green and Racer Blue / Black-Pink Glow-White and White/Solar Red.
Therefore, Off-White x Nike clothing was not enough. To reaffirm the sporting intent of the collection is the new interpretation of footwear. We are faced with Nike technology combined with the classic and super recognizable style of Virgil Abloh.
The Off-White x Nike Olympic clothing collection and the Air Zoom Tempo NEXT% will launch on 23 July. There is little time left and we could compete to wear the entire collection signed by the two brands.
