Born in London in the end of the 70s, Punk Style is about to come back to our wardrobe.
Pins, chains, combat boots and dark makeup, Punk was an act of social rebellion against fashion standards, celebrating flaws and imperfection.
Nowdays, Punk has softened and mingled with pop and glamour. The new Punk aesthetic is not simply a come back of vintage fashion but it is also a desire of creativity and uniqueness. It’s the perfect look for the nerd version of the fashionista, that focuses on details and wants to express her personality in her own way.
Plus, the color palette doesn’t only include the darkest shades, but it is full of vibrant colors, such as pink, red and green.
To bring a touch of Punk into your daily look, you can be inspired by this shooting made by the stylist Gloria Maeng, that creates the Punk version of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Her looks are full of references and iconic details, such as the one and only Vivienne Westwood’s corset.
If you don’t dare to be that bold, you could always add a few Punk accessories to your total black outfit.

Punk was a reference also in the latest runways. From Dior to Acne Studios, this style influenced the design of the collections, bringing an underground charm.
