Through its Instagram channel, the streetwear brand Supreme, has announced the imminent arrival of its Fall/Winter 2019 collection. In the photo in question we see a denim jacket with a print that refers to the iconic British band, The Smiths.
The back of the denim jacket indeed features a print of an American marine during the Vietnam War. The image is the same as The Smith’s album, “Meat Is Murder” launched in 1985, with the difference of replacing the phrase “Meat is Murder” with “Supreme is Love”.
Obviously, this is not the first time that Supreme uses The Smiths for its collections. In fact, in 2016, the skate brand launched its Spring/Summer campaign using Morrissey as a face.
Unfortunately, however, The Smiths frontman was not really happy with the result so much to declare: “I apologize enormously for my weakened photo published this week by Supreme. The shot was made in October 2015. I considered the photograph suitable only for a medical encyclopedia and I begged Supreme not to use it”.
Honestly, we are curious to know how it will take this last exit instead … and you?
Stay tuned here for more details on the new collection.
