Rick Owens reinterprets Converse sneakers with a minimalist and subversive design.
During the Rick Owens fall/winter 2021 fashion show at the Lido of Venice, among the revolutionary shapes, the black and white and the bass geometries of the designer’s creations, a pair of sneakers with a square toe arise: the TURBODRK Chuck 70.
“When I think of Converse, I think of the black and white Chuck Taylors and the punk rock generation. These have always been iconic pillars of my aesthetic.”
Rick Owens
For the first time, the designer puts his hand to the design of the iconic Chuck Taylor 70, extending the tongue and squaring the tip, a change that took place for the first time in Converse’s century of existence. An apparently minimal reinvention, but of great impact, which is already creating hype and thrilling sneakerheads.
The Converse TURBODRK Chuck 70 will be released in 2021, stay with us for more updates on the release!
