A collection where the protagonists are the famous figures of American’s fast food and a capsule dedicated to the New York of the eighties. That’s where Malph drew the inspiration to create its FW 2015-16 collection for men and women presented at White Milano this February on the occasion of Milan Fashion Week. But there’s more: these clothes wants to tell the fine line that exists between fashion, sex and taste “because the food is sex of taste, and the taste is vice of fashion.”.
The collection inspired by the three most powerful icons of American’s fast-food – Burger, Fries and Cola – is divided into three menus: “the first “Basic” is made of black all-over prints repeated, plastic paints polished recalling the sparkling eighties. It is a glossy menu. The second menu “Medium” is made of embroidered outline larger and accurate, bright colors pink and green water: an articulate menu. The third “Deluxe” is defined by the uniqueness part of the icon-food object and rises by using a special light blue nylon as additional element that makes it almost three-dimensional: it is a sophisticated menu.”.
New York, a place that in the eighties was in constant ferment where the appearance, was the most important act of the day and where the glitter towered over the bodies of socialitè … but also a city graying smog enveloping its skyscrapers.
So Malph interprets the Big Apple and in this capsule can “develop on fabric” that imaginary of th eighties so street style and underground.
A fast-growing brand that manages to break the rules while remaining very competitive in the market.
