With these words Dj Khaled announces his new partnership, soon to be launched internationally. The famous music produce,in fact, winner of a Grammy Awards with several platinum records, appreciated all over the world for his extraordinary musical successes as well as for his philanthropic commitment, has long been a great friend and a great fan. of the two designers.
There have been several public appearances in which the DJ showed off the clothes of the Italian brand as for the cover and in the clips of his Popstar album. It is therefore no coincidence that he has chosen to collaborate with Dolce & Gabbana for an exclusive capsule collection.
Inaugurated with the name: “Dolce & Gabbana x Khaled Khaled”, the entire line draws inspiration from the DNA of each one, thus recreating a perfect mix of styles and atmospheres, or better still a mix between the urban style of Miami and the warm atmosphere of the Mediterranean. On jackets, trousers and t-shirts, palms and brightly colored flowers coexist, the spirit of the sunny beaches of South Beach and the charm of the colors of the cosmopolitan downtown District. A metropolis that is reflected in the Atlantic but at the same time can absorb the Mediterranean codes of the Italian brand.
This explains the explosion of Bougainvillea plants and agave leaves, which unite both the landscapes of Florida and Southern Italy, flanked by graphics and murals that bring us back to the artistic heart of Miami: the Wynwood neighborhood. Another element that does not go unnoticed and that certainly will not surprise the most loyal fans of the DJ, is the lion. An animal so dear to the artist, for its strength and pride, it is presented here in a riot of flowers and striped and polka dot patterns.
But the most surprising thing is yet to come. In a completely stereotyped society, the concept of plus size has only been addressed in recent years. And today, finally, there are those who are opening up completely to body positivity, not only in women’s fashion but also in men’s fashion, and this collection is a confirmation of this. Available up to size 60, it is also suitable for those less sculptural bodies, which have always been proposed on the catwalks.
The result is therefore an exclusive collection in aesthetic terms, but at the same time inclusive to offer a wearability within everyone’s reach. It will go on sale on March 15th on the brand’s online store.
