WHY THE NEW FENDI WOMAN IS AMONG THE COOLEST OF ALL THE MILANESE FASHION WEEK
In a Milan that is always in turmoil, even under the threat of Coronavirus, the Fendi fall/winter 2020-21 collection parades. And what a collection. After years of co-working with the genius Karl Lagerfeld, Silvia Venturini Fendi demonstrates not only that she has a creative flair in launching bags such as the iconic Baguette, but also in creating perfect clothes. And the word is to be understood in the sense assigned to it by the Austrian architect Adolf Loos: “perfect is something to which we must neither add nor remove anything”. And this fashion show is the correct representation of it.
The spectator’s eye is directed on the shoulders. In fact, it is precisely at that height that most of the show develops. Then there are the lengths: midi or mini. The long length is not fashionable anymore. When the gaze turns elsewhere, it does so on the waist. Well highlighted by belts, to which often charms that have already become a must have for fashion addict are added, it gives the woman a great and strong femininity. This is then expressed by the bags. Oversized shopper juxtaposed with super trendy minibags (see chez Prada).
And finally, the Fendi woman expresses herself through the colors: from orange to pink, passing through optical white, yellow, olive green and turquoise. She appreciates gray and black but never makes them dramatic. It gives them a touch of irony through animal prints or a touch of sensuality, thanks to subtle transparencies and luxurious leather outerwear. There is never a shortage of fur garments. The rest is the maison of fourrures par excellence.
The style of Silvia Venturini Fendi is born with the Fendi fall/winter 2020-21. And it’s fun, fresh, sexy and imaginative. Without being difficult to wear. That’s all a fashion collection should be.
