The most famous party of the fashion system, which is staged every year at the Metropolitan Museum in New York , is back with the brightest theme ever!
Last night, the 2nd of May, was held the highly anticipated Met Gala which, as we well know, every year has a different dress code. This year’s theme was «Gilded Glamour», or the golden age of American history, between 1870 and the beginning of the 1900s.
The stars who crossed the red carpet were countless. Iconic, as always, Anna Wintour, honorary co-chair of the event, who showed off a total Chanel look.
Among the protagonists there were surely the couple made by Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who co-presented the evening along with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Regina King and Tom Ford.
Now, let’s see all the looks that, in our opinion, deserve a mention for making this event once again unforgettable.
We start right with Blake Lively who wore a long dress Versace on pink tones completely covered with glittering decorations and a large bow that, loose in the middle of the red carpet, transformed the dress into a completely different turquoise one. Accompained by an elegant Ryan Reynolds in Ralph Lauren, Blake is definitely among the stars who could not go unnoticed.
Another breathtaking choice is that of Kim Kardashian, who wore the iconic dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962, to sing Happy Birthday to American President J. F. Kennedy.
Did anyone say gold? Amber Valletta definitely said yes to it when she wore her long, completely golden, pleated dress.
Kaia Gerber managed to be elegant making a mix between the cut-out, the see-through and the shimmery, wearing a truly stunning Alexander McQueen dress.
Sabrina Carpenter opted instead for a co-ord consisting of a top and a wide skirt completely made of gold and silver sequins.
Among the men’s clothes, however, we can not help but mention Alessandro Michele and Jared Leto who once again took advantage of their similarity to arrive on the red carpet together, this time wearing the same dress! A cream-colored tuxedo embellished with sparkling floral embroidery, combined with a white shirt, a red satin bow tie, leather gloves and a brown suede clutch. The outfit worn by the two “twins”, obviously signed by Gucci, will surely remain in everyone’s memory.
