Maison Margiela‘s iconic avant-garde boots renew their look once again, with an exclusive new edition that can be purchased from today.
Tabi are one of the most extraordinary cult items in fashion, but they are also sharpest since they still have the ability to stir different opinions among people. The model, which is originally Japanese, was adopted by the Belgian designer Martin Margiela from his debut in the 1988. Since then, Tabi have never left the catwalk becoming a cult accessory that has no equal.
In recent years, Tabi boots have been constantly re-proposed by the fashion house, in particular with the creative direction of John Galliano, who has always admired the genius of this traditional but timeless shoe. We have seen many conceptual versions of it but often with the traditional shape and a 2D look animated only by bold prints and colors. However, this time around the classic white patent leather, linen upper and leather lining model, drops of paint were applied for a very realistic ‘dye’ effect.
