The partnership between Prada and Adidas continues with a new fully recyclable sneaker.
Prada and Adidas have already amazed us in recent months with two collaborations, the latest with a limited edition of Superstar, to pay homage to the original model of 1969. Today the couple strikes again.
The model made its appearance on the Instagram profile of Sean Wotherspoon: one of the rising stars of young fashion in the USA. The designer’s career was born in 2013 when in Richmond, Virginia, he opened a sneakers store with two friends. Round Two the name of the shop became a myth in a few months. The creativity of Wotherspoon, combined with great passion for sneakers and love for the trand that characterized the 80s and 90s, led him to notable collaborations: from Nike to Lacoste, from Disney to Vespa.
The designer posted on his profile three photos of the sneaker made entirely of recycled materials. The model looks like a hybrid between a 1996 Prada American Cup and what could be a classic canvas Adidas model.
The transparent upper lets you see the representative stripes of Adidas, while on the heel we see the iconic red line of Prada. Practical to read and above all in recyclable material. The designer in fact accompanies the photos with this caption:
Can’t wait to skate these! @adidasoriginals @prada ♻️ AND they are made with recycled materials! ?
His comment does not suggest whether there is his hand in the model or if it is simply a gift from Miuccia. But what you let slip is the date of release of the sneaker. A fan in fact asks when you can buy it and… drumroll… Sean reveals that the model will be available online this weekend.
We just have to wait to learn more!
