Hunter Schafer, the Jules from the Hbo ‘Euphoria’ series, is the protagonist of the new Prada campaign aimed at celebrating one of the maison’s historic it-bags. We are talking about the Prada The Galleria bag.
It is a work without preconceptions that has a clear goal, however. Or rather, the goal seems clear to Xavier Dolan. Canadian director, author of Mommy, Laurence Anyways, manages to capture the iconography of the fashion house through the particular look that distinguishes it. A note from the maison explains that he was given the opportunity to express his personal vision of the fashion universe and the identity of the bag through the lens and independently.
The actress seems to be moving in a dreamlike space where the cinematic and fashion aspects match perfectly. In fact, we are witnessing a series of micro-narratives that tell thoughts, emotions, different and often confused realities, dreams, sudden changes, but which are representative of a constant. Yes, because in this setting, which at times she may appear confused in the eyes of the beholder, attention remains focused on the Prada Galleria bag. This appears as an obsession, the object of the actress’s desire. The accessory par excellence is told in different contexts but without losing its relevance. And here we go from the bedroom to a photo shoot. From dream to reality.
What is most surprising is how in sixty seconds the Prada bag, now a timeless fashion classic, manages to be completely reinterpreted and ‘revolutionized’. In fact, Lorenzo Bertelli, Head of Marketing of the brand states: ” Over time, you may end up taking things for granted, but it is important to talk about ourselves and our products to the new generations, and follow them with them ”. And that’s exactly what happens in the new campaign: the Prada Galleria, a milestone, reinvented in its uses. The accessory that remains itself, but always different.
