The collection inspired by the queen of camp style and standard bearer of the trash genre
A summer full of surprises and news that of Loewe: after the fresh and youthful Paula’s Ibiza collection, the fashion designer JW Anderson decides to dwell on the themes that have characterized the month of June for years now.
The de Divine ← collection is a revolutionary act: celebration of Harris Glenn Milstead or better known by the name of Divine, the drag queen , performer, actor and icon of the international queer scene.
Overcoming all barriers and expressing individual , identity and sexual at 360 degrees, Loewe is inspired by the looks of this iconic protagonist of films like Hairspray .
The fusion between Loewe’s nonchalance and Divine’s Camp style results in a explosion of colors , trash , fantasy, indignation, transgression and freedom.
The result is an exclusive limited edition capsule with three t-shirts and a tote bag, available on Loewe.com
15% of the proceeds from the sales will go to Visual AIDS , an association that fights HIV / AIDS through art, supporting artists affected by HIV and celebrating their memory.
The Spanish maison will also support the Baltimore Pride , Divine’s home and Hairspray stage.
In addition to the mini-collection, unfinished due to the pandemic , for the first time Loewe also creates a fully digital exhibition aimed at celebrating the creative genius and activist of Divine.
The exhibition was initially supposed to be part of Loewe’s review for PhotoEspaña Madrid , canceled due to the situation that has swept the entire planet in recent months.
This reveals a splendid showcase of objects that belonged to Divine : from the notorious white dress to the aluminum make-up box, to the jacket worn on the world tour.
