The new limited edition t-shirt capsule
in collaboration with the London artist
Floragatan 13, former Czech embassy in Stockholm , has been the new headquarters of the brand Acne Studios since 2019. The modernist building was designed by Jan Bočan and set up with the works of the London artist Daniel Silver , since 2010 in close contact with the brand.
The figurative sculpture of Daniel Silver has adapted to the context by creating large abstract collages with the scraps and surpluses of fabrics belonging to the brand’s archives. Cut and assembled by hand, the collages have now become inspiration for a limited edition of t-shirts .
The minimal and clean style that has always distinguished the artist, explores new techniques and shapes using four shades of colors: white, black, green and pink.
It is these four colors that dye the t-shirts inspired by this project: a limited number of handmade t-shirts available on acnestudios.com since last April 30.
Just like the original works, even those reproduced on the tees are real handmade collages of jersey cutouts with glitter applications and reflective films. Silver’s initials are embroidered on the back of each t-shirt, the way the artist signs his two-dimensional works.
In addition to the conceptual t-shirts, part of the spring-summer 2020 collection will also be exhibited in the Acne Studios store, a collection in which the protagonists are the paintings of August Strindberg
