Daniel Arsham, class 1980, born in Ohio, USA, is one of the most fascinating contemporary artists, thanks to his versatility in moving between art, architecture and performance.
His conceptualization and strongly recognizable aesthetic are at the base of all his projects, among which we remember “Fictional Archeology” and “Future Relic”.
His works are characterized by the absence of color and by the absence of time constraints like the past, the present and the future, which make them contemporary and timeless.
The collaboration signed Daniel Arsham consists in a sculptural collection entitled “Reliquie del Kanto attraverso il tempo“, that projects Pokémon, unearthed after a millennium, in the year 3020. This reinterpretation will be reported on the UT’s t-shirts, the Uniqlo’s line dedicated to the artistic graphics that permits to better express the individuality of who wears them.
For the realization, Pokémon Company has reserved exclusively the access to the Pokémon Archive, so that permits to Arsham not only to represent the Pokémon through his artworks, but to contaminate their world through his sculptures, as shown by the video teaser launched on social media.
The t-shirt will have a minimal look with a black or white background, characterized by the Pokémon drawing in their transformation phase, proposed in 7 variations for men, women and kids.
The drop is planned for the 30th April on the Uniqlo official website. Are you ready? Gotta catch ‘em all!
