From tomorrow up for grabs a new, more modern and futuristic proposal of the Zig Kinetica II sneaker, the result of the second collaboration between Brain Dead and Reebok!
I think that the expression “shooting at full throttle” is right for Reebok, who in recent weeks has launched one flash news after another, cleverly mastering the collaborative ring. After the recent appearance that involved him together with the unmistakable Maison Margiela aesthetic with the “Classic Leather Tabi Bianchetto” model, he is back today arm in arm with Brain Dead in a surprising new partnership.

Although the two had already worked together on silhouettes such as Pump Court, Beatnik and Classic Leather; the new project distorts the sphere of sneakers by going beyond extraterrestrial borders. As if it had been released by UFOs, the new Zig Kinetica II takes on a psychedelic aesthetic, taking inspiration from Japanese Sofubi Kaiju toys. To make the announcement on social media creative: a presentation video that between paranormal powers and funny performances, portrays a superhero intent on saving the world with his electrifying sneakers, an excellent company for a special mission.

The collaboration revolves around two different offers. The lighter model develops a gray upper, decorated with swirly motifs and matte gold finishes. Slight hints of lilac outline the edges of the throat, while the overlapping midsoles abandon themselves to a fluorescent color, with an almost tie-dye effect, in vivid shades of orange and turquoise. The other model, on the other hand, spans a darker planet.
The dark aesthetic given by the black of the upper comes to life thanks to the waving patterns in pastel green that stand out in the central part, as well as the gold tongue and the loops of the lilac laces. But giving that cosmic and spatial look is the translucent midsole and the black sole embellished with white splashes. A pointillism that on the whole seems to recall a starry sky.
According to both brands, the collaboration will be released on April 13 on the Brain Dead’s webstore and on Dover Street Market.
