Part of the proceeds from Balenciaga’s Pink capsule will support breast cancer research.
Balenciaga‘s spring/summer 2021 will be accompanied by the “We Are Pink” capsule, a selection of ready-to-wear garments and unisex jewelery created to support research on breast cancer prevention. Each item of the collection, which includes hoodies, long-sleeved shirts and t-shirts, will feature the pink ribbon, the universal symbol for breast cancer awareness, as well as the slogan “We Are Pink” and the Balenciaga logo.
10% of the proceeds will help finance a research program at the Institut Curie, the leading French cancer center. This program aims to demonstrate the utility of an early breast cancer relapse detection method that measures circulating tumor DNA that can be evaluated on a simple blood test.
The “We Are Pink” collection will be available online and in stores starting October 1st, in the occasion of the month dedicated to prevention.
