Domenica lo staff di Wait era presenta ad un evento importante per il mondo dello street-fashion:  Size ha inaugurato il suo nuovo grande spazio. Uno showroom veramente grande, ben disegnato, moderno e dal sapore minimale. Il giusto teatro per ospitare una lista di brand di grande futuro che, sempre in evoluzione, rappresenta un punto di riferimento degli store indipendenti.

Senza Size la storia di molti brand e molti negozi, almeno in nord italia sarebbe diversa. Size ha sempre avuto una capacità incredibile: quella di scoprire brand emergenti e lanciarli: che essi siano commerciali o più di nicchia.

La forza è stata quella di credere in brand giovani, piccoli, emergenti e di accompagnarli fino al loro decollo. Prodotti freschi, per un pubblico giovane.

La brand list è questa, ricca, interessante: D.A.T.E., CASIO VINTAGE , HISTORY DELUXE , AMERICAN COLLEGE, HAPPY SOCKS , BYG BANG , SOIREE PRIVEE, MONOTY , KNOB, BLOMOR , SCHMOOVE , BUFFALO, ALERO, BUSINESS , DNMBRAND , BOOMBAP . C’è qualcosa per la massa, qualcosa per i negozi di ricerca e qualcosa per i negozi luxury. Ma si tratta sempre di progetti vivi, vitali mai banali.

They have presented to us the Costo caps as a new phenomenon. They are simple and hats withshort flap and pom-pom in contrast (that can be removed). We discover that they are called “kombai” and are real Finnish jewels of tradition and sustainability, in the materials and manufacturing. The proposals are varied, from basic colors to the fluorescent shades. It will be really a new trend?

Il fashion che incontra l’arte, o meglio l’arte che lo colonizza e lo reinventa nelle forme e nelle funzioni. Questo è il progetto “New Era Introducing”, eccezionalmente in mostra (con una piccola selezione di opere) a Berlino negli spazi del Bread&Butter: un contest internazionale che ha coinvolto creativi di Germania, Spagna, Italia, UK, Svezia, UAE e Sud Africa, alla fine del quale sono stati selezionati ottanta progetti esposti in un tour internazionale nelle principali gallerie dei paesi coinvolti.

Il punto di partenza è il classico 59fifty, icona di New Era in tutto il mondo, rielaborato e reinterpretato secondo le diverse tecniche e creatività, senza limiti o vincoli. Il risultato è sorprendente.

The fashion that meets the art, or rather the art and reinvents and colonizes it in the forms and functions. That is the project “New Era Introducing” exceptionally on display (with a small selection of works) in Berlin in the areas of Bread & Butter: an international contest that involved creative of Germany, Spain, Italy, UK, Sweden,UAE and South Africa at the end of which were selected eighty  projects exposed on an international tour in the main galleries of the countries involved.

The starting point is the classic 59fifty, New Era icon around the world, reworked and reinterpreted according to the different techniques and creativity without limitsor constraints. The result is amazing.

Impossibile, in mezzo a chilometri di stand di abiti, t-shirt, accessori e scarpe, non notare Peter Ibruegger e le sue divertenti creazioni. Parliamo di tazze, bicchieri e tazzine dal design semplice quanto riconoscibile e di impatto: baffi famosi (Poirot, Chaplin, Magnum) e papillon compaiono su mug e tazzine da caffè, singolarmente o in abbinata. A completare il “set” la divertente bombetta-zuccheriera. I prezzi vanno da un minimo di 15.90 euro per le mug ai 32.50 delle zuccheriere. Ne sentiremo ancora parlare.

Allo stand OnePiece la gente si avvicina con un sentimento misto di curiosità e incredulità. Toccando con mano il prodotto, e sopratutto sentendone la storia e le caratteristiche, è poi difficile non lasciarsene conquistare.

Parliamo di vere “tutone” norvegesi (i designer le definiscono “leisure wear”), nate dall’idea di tre ragazzi poco più che ventenni di creare il capo perfetto per le oziose domeniche davanti alla televisione. Dall’ homewear alla strada poi il passo è stato breve. L’idea è proprio quella di proporre un prodotto comodo, curioso e creativo, confortevole fra le quattro mura di casa ma anche, all’occorrenza, all’esterno. Sono proposte in innumerevoli tessuti, colori e fantasie (inclusa la “stars and stripes” fotografata addosso a Justin Bieber), comprese delle versioni in peluches che fanno davvero venire voglia di essere indossate. Potrebbe diventare una mania.

At the stand OnePiece people approach with a mixed feeling of curiosity and disbelief. Touch the product, and above all feel the history and characteristics, it’s hard not to be conquered.

Let’s talk about real norwegian “tracksuit” (designers call them “leisure wear”), born by three guys in their twenties and their idea to create the perfect piece of clothing for lazy Sundays watching television. From “home wear” to the road then the step was short. The idea is to offer a very easy, curious and creative product, comfortable within the four walls of the house but also, where appropriate, externally. OnePiece are offered in wide range of fabrics, colors and patterns (including the “Stars and Stripes” photographed wearing by Justin Bieber), covered a version of in peluches that really make me want to be worn. It could become a mania.

Uno dei marchi più interessanti scovati durante questo Bread&Butter è il brand inglese Sugarhill Boutique. Parliamo di abbigliamento femminile: leggerissimi minidress, micro pull, trench e camicie iperfemminili ed originali, dalle stampe insolite (pinguini, volpi, colombe, ecc) e da un gusto bon ton che non si prende troppo sul serio. Azzeccatissimi i tagli, le proporzioni e gli accostamenti di colori.

Peccato per ora nessuno lo distribuisca in Italia. Se, come nel mio caso, è stato colpo di fulmine, non vi resta che acquistare dallo shop online direttamente dall’Inghilterra.

One of the most interesting brands hunted during the Bread & Butter is the english Sugarhill Boutique. Ci sono anche le collant e soprattutto una limited edition per Opening Ceremony che di fantasie ne mette insieme parecchie.
