Se avete passione per il mondo della moda, direi che questa è una di quelle mostre che sono assolutamente imperdibili.

Alexander McQueen era una di quelle persone che ti faceva ancora credere che la moda fosse una bellissima arte e non solo un mero ricoprirsi di indumenti.

La sua melanconia, la sua innovazione, la sua costanza nello stupirci, quella sensazione di vedere opere senza età rimarranno sempre presenti.

In questa mostra iniziata ieri al Metropolitan Museum of Art di New York verranno esposti schizzi e abiti a partire dal 1992, anno in cui terminò la St.Martin’s, al 2010 in cui venne presentata la sua ultima collezione.

Avelon è sicuramente uno di quei brand emergenti da tenere sott’occhio.

Creato nel 2008 da Erik Frenken, designer olandese, lo stile Avelon si ispira a contrasti inaspettati che giocano con tessuti, forme e proporzioni, dando vita a una moda futuristica e a un crossover tra lusso elegante e moda urban.

Created in 2008 by Erik Frenken, Dutch designer, his style is inspired by unexpected contrasts playing with fabrics, shapes and proportions, creating a fashionable and futuristic crossover between luxury and urban fashion.

Se non altro ci ricorderemo di questo 2011 come l’anno dei grandi cambiamenti:

- Carine Roitfeld lascia la direzione di Vogue Paris (da poco si è appreso che collaborerà con il department store Barneys)

- John Galliano viene sollevato dal suo incarico per la Maison Christian Dior

- Milan Vukmirovic termina la sua collaborazione con Trussardi

- Clare Waight Keller dopo 6 anni si dimette dalla direzione di Pringle Of Scotland.

Bene, ora Christophe Decarnin,  a cui va il merito insieme ad Emmanuelle Alt di aver ridato brio e uno stile  inconfondibile al marchio Balmain, decide di dare il suo addio.

Qualcosa era già nell’aria, quando alle ultime sfilate parigine lo stilista non si presentò; si parlò di profonda depressione, ora ne abbiamo la conferma.

Chi lo rimpiazzerà? I rumors dicono un designer del team interno, sulla scia di quanto successo per Alexander McQueen.

Article è uno di quei brand che letteralmente mi fa impazzire.

A partire dalla sua filosofia, prendere quanto di più semplice possa esistere  nel mondo della moda, una tee, e tramutarla in una tela bianca sulla quale esprimere attraverso grafiche mai banali i sentimenti e le passioni dei fondatori.

Non è cosi facile distinguersi in questo segmento, specialmente oggi che i marchi di tshirt si sprecano e di piacevoli novità ne vedo ben poche.

Inutile aggiungere altro su questo marchio italiano alla sua terza stagione, lascio parlare le immagini della loro collezione Spring Summer 2011, in attesa di, come trapelato dai loro headquarters, qualcosa di più di una eclettica linea di tee.

Article is one of those brands that literally drives me crazy.

Parlando di nomi degni di nota nel panorama gioielliero non posso non soffermarvi su Dominic Jones, talento inglese che da ormai due anni ci allieta gli occhi con le sue creazioni.

Gioielli ispirati alla natura, creati unendo tecniche tradizionali a un design innovativo, non è un caso se Anna Wintour abbia lodato il designer britannico che può vantare tra le sue fan Alexa Chung, Lou Doillon e Florence Welch.

Cosi come non è un caso che abbia da poco vinto l’Elle Style Award come miglior designer di gioielli.
